BOBBIN MOUNTS
Bobbin Mounts are a low-cost solution to reducing vibration and shock. They can be used in either Compression or Shear or a combination, and are available with various thread configurations.
BUFFERS AND BUMP STOPS
Buffers and Bump Stops provide a low-cost solution for absorbing Shock and Vibration. They are easy to install, and typically used to reduce the force of an impact from a secondary object. Alternatively, they can be used as an elastic element, where the rubber remains in direct contact with a surface. They are manufactured from 1st Grade Natural Rubber which can accommodate high deformation and high stresses. On request, they are also available in High Damped Rubber.

CAB MOUNTS

RUBBER BUSHES
Vibratech offer a wide range of rubber bushings, also known as bushing mounts, that are used in various applications where high levels of shock and vibrations need to be absorbed such as vehicle suspensions. With its cylindrical shape, the rubber shock bushing mount acts as a vibration absorption link between two mechanical bodies allowing torsional angular rotation, radial and axial loads, plus conical movement. The design of our bushing uses high quality rubber bonded to an inner and outer metal sleeve (IOS). How do I know which vibration control product I need?
The right product depends on the issue you are trying to solve. Some applications need to isolate ongoing vibration from machinery, while others need to absorb shock, reduce impact, control movement, keep equipment level or protect parts from mechanical stress. Bobbin mounts, spring mounts and machinery mounts are commonly used where vibration isolation is the priority. Buffers and bump stops are more suited to impact or contact points. Rubber bushes are used where movement needs to be controlled between two mechanical bodies. Leveling feet can help stabilise equipment while also reducing vibration and noise transmission to the floor. The best starting point is to identify the equipment, the load, the movement involved and whether the application is fixed, mobile or exposed to impact.
What is the difference between a mount, bump stop and rubber bush?
These products are all used for vibration or shock control, but they are not interchangeable. Mounts are generally used between equipment and a supporting structure to help isolate vibration, shock or movement. Bump stops are typically used to reduce the force of an impact from another object, or as an elastic contact point where the rubber remains against a surface. Rubber bushes act as a link between two mechanical bodies and can allow torsional, angular, radial and axial movement. A mounting pad or rubber pad-style product may be suitable where the aim is to support equipment, reduce vibration or protect contact surfaces. The correct option depends on the way the part is loaded and how much movement it needs to allow.
What should I consider before choosing an anti-vibration product?
Before choosing an anti-vibration product, consider the total weight of the equipment, the number of mounting points and how the load is distributed. You should also consider the running speed, forcing frequency and required static deflection, as these affect the level of isolation that can be achieved. The environment matters too. Oil, fuel, chemicals, extreme temperatures, corrosion, high humidity, shock loads and high G-forces can all influence product choice. Mobile and static applications may also need different mounting styles. Exhausts, pipework and ducting should remain flexible so the equipment can move freely and the vibration isolation is not bypassed.
